Years ago the Atlanta Journal had a weekly column titled, "Why Do the Heathen Rage?"  They need to bring it back. The heathen are running amok.  Twice in the same number of days I was flabbergasted by comments in the AJC. One was a "Vent" that questioned why taxpayers should provide public transit for those people who can't afford cars.  That is wrong on so many levels it is hard for a thinking person to know where to start.  But I will try.  Uh, who pays for the roads upon which "you" drive the automobiles you can afford?  If there was no public transit the roads would be so congested it would take you a long time to drive to the Country Club? Besides, how is your maid to get to work?  You gonna pick her up it that fancy car on roads YOU pay for? Public transit is not a gift to the poor.  It is a necessity for any modern city.  Public transit reduces highway congestion and pollution from "infernal" (Yeah I know that is not internal) combustion engines

The next day in an article about training immigrants about workers rights a man was quoted as saying, ""Illegal immigrants should have no rights."  OK the employer is screwing them pretty badly already. This makes it very difficult for legitimate employers and US workers to compete.  If we say they have "NO" rights that is going to leave them at the complete mercy of unscrupulous employers.  Then who do you think those employers will hire? And would taking away all their rights keep them from coming here?  Does security cameras and the threat of incarceration stop thieves?  That comment in the paper reminds me of a previous US Attorney General who said, :Of course suspects are guilty, else they wouldn't be suspects." By these stated positions once some one is arrested by the authorities or enters this Country illegally they would no longer have any rights. No right to a fair hearing, no right to a speedy trial, no protection from those that would misuse and abuse them. Instead of treating human beings like ( I started to say animals but animals are protected against mistreatment regardless of how they come into the Country) why don't we prosecute and lock up employers tat violate the law by hiring illegal. Oh I forgot, when the Immigration service does its job powerful Republican Senators intervene to stop them.

Lordy, i believe in free speech but why is so much free speech overpriced and just not worth the effort to listen?  I would not suggest that we shut these folks up.  They make the rest of us look so damn smart.
